My aim is to offer an economical and professional service in design, project management and surveying of property.

I endeavour to ensure that the end product is the most cost-effective result for the budget and resources available, whilst taking the strain out of the bureaucratic procedures and the complexities of design. This enables clients to enjoy their property and husbandry of it.

OFFICES IN EXETER AND PLYMOUTH

John Hardy and team, are Bristol based specialists in the conservation and care of historic buildings throughout England and Wales. Services include long-term schedules for the general maintenance of properties, as well as resolving the immediate ‘emergency’ repair requirements and gaining of grants.

As well as his 30 years in Practice, John Hardy has had personal experience of owning a Grade I Property - Kings Weston House designed by Sir John Vanbrugh and is very aware of the day-to-day complications and complexities that such a property can bring. In the grounds of Kings Weston House, John also personally built his own self-build home. The building was attached to a Grade 1, Sir John Vanbrugh designed portico, known as the Loggia. This brought its own difficulties, above and beyond the usual self-build project. Not many individuals build a new Grade 1 home!

To ensure that John Hardy and his team are continuously updated with the latest products in insulation, ecological aspects, energy generating and water saving technologies, the team assists with many self-build clients in this ever-changing technological industry.

As well as new build, projects can include the remodelling and upgrading of existing buildings and barn conversions. We also offer a full surveying, architectural and project management service from concept to completion.

John Hardy is a full member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and the Chartered Institute of Builders. Other memberships include: The Institute of Historic Building Conservation, SAVE, The Georgian Society, The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings, The Historic Houses Association, Association of Project Safety and has been an active member of The Ecological Design Association, Kings Weston Preservation Society and the Architecture and Surveying Institute.
