Surveying for Barns & Redundant Buildings
Pure ‘Surveying’ is the technique, profession and science of accurately determining the terrestrial or three-dimensional position of points and the distances and angles between them, commonly practiced by professional surveyors.
As a Chartered Building Surveyor we take this aspect one step further by specialising in the design, construction and management of buildings. By considering these aspects as a science and appreciating how they have evolved over the many generations, we gain a great insight as to how buildings in the past were built and why they were constructed in the manner they were When surveying a redundant building this can be beneficial in the long-term caring of them. For example a building built as a breathable building should continue for its longevity.
We can take the best aspects of our building history whilst incorporating the latest technologies and energy surveying devices. When remodelling an existing building we take every advantage of the original structure to make it work for you.
With large, older, rundown property or a building that is unusual or altered, we often find ourselves working in areas that other professionals would not. We can offer our clients a comprehensive structural report that includes defects, repair and maintenance options to every aspect and element of the building.
We always look to conserve the history of a building for the benefit of future generations, endeavouring to ensure that any modifications in our lifetime can be reversed if required by future generations, but accepting that all buildings and their uses evolve.
